Feese Comes Up Two Spots Short of Making Knoxville Nationals "A" Feature

KNOXVILLE, IA - After not being in a sprint car all season, Blake Feese returned to the seat of the Beaver Drill & Tool #12x a couple weeks ago with the intent of racing in sprint car racing's showcase event, the Knoxville Nationals.

Following a weekly show at Knoxville Raceway on July 31, Feese and the Vielhauer team decided to team up for the Nationals. Feese raced in the Front Row Challenge at Southern Iowa Speedway the Monday night prior to the Nationals and was involved in an accident at the start of the "B" main that destroyed a car. Everyone worked hard to build a new car by Thursday night when Blake qualified for the 44th annual Knoxville Nationals.

"We wanted to make the "A" on Saturday, but just a had a few too many things to get worked out," said Feese, who plans on racing the #12x in the Knoxville finale on Saturday, August 21st. "I want to thank Bob and Billy Vielhauer for letting me drive for them. I appreciate all the hard work the entire team put in to give me chance. Finishing 8th on Thursday night and 6th in the B on Saturday was a decent couple of nights, but we felt like we could have been a little better."

"I had alot of fun driving a sprint car again, and seeing friends and fans that I haven't been able to see all year. We hope to have a good showing in the car in Knoxville's last race of the year."

Feese will return to action in the NASCAR Busch Series in September when he will attempt to qualify for the Stacker 200 at Dover International Speedway.
